Massimo
Giordano studied flute and graduated from the "G. Tartini" Conservatory
of Trieste. Then he devoted to study singing with soprano Cecilia Fusco.
He was finalist in several
important singing competitions such as the "I.Adami Corradetti"
Competition of Padova and "F. P. Tosti" of Ortona, where
he also received the Gold Medail.
In 1997 Massimo Giordano
won the "A. Belli" Competition in Spoleto, followed by his
debut in La Clemenza di Tito (title role) at the Teatro Caio Melisso
and in La traviata (Alfredo) at the Teatro Nuovo.
In 1997/8 season he made
his debuts as Ernesto in Don Pasquale at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste,
in Bernstein's Candide in Lecce and as the protagonist in Massenet's
Werther in Spoleto. In 1998 he also took part in the "Opera Giovani
in Europa" tour where he sang Rodolfo in La Boheme.
In
March of 1999 he earned high praise as the protagonist in Massenet's
Werther at the Teatro Valli di Reggio Emilia and this moment is considered
to be crucial for his futher career.
